Ready, Set, VOTE!
You likely have your Voter's Pamphlet in hand, but if you want to check additional information before your ballot arrives this month, have you checked out the Ballotpedia website?

Check the AARP voting guide (general tips on how to ensure your vote counts) plus the AARP recommendation to support the Washington State long-term care resolution.

Great Shakeout Earthquake Drill
October 15 is the statewide date to test our Earthquake-Readiness skills.
If you used to practice this at work every year, and you've gotten out of the habit of testing your readiness, take time this week to brush up so you're ready.
There are new tips for those who have a hard time with mobility, and some myth-busters on the du-bunked "Triangle of Life" technique.

The Shakeout Drill is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. on October 15, 2020

Talks - Join in the Discussions!
  • Every Monday, we gather online to discuss an ever-changing range of topics.
  • Every Thursday, we find a TED Talk to watch together online, then discuss our insights on the topic.
  • No need to pre-register, just click the Events link for meeting times and Zoom links to join us.

Friday Night Plans?
Pre-register early (space is limited) for the Friday, October 16 "Barely Tolerable Tales" presented by the Creswell Club via the King County Library system. Event is 7:30-9:00 PM
>>BONUS: If you'd like to attend a "pre-event" NNN Zoom chat at 7:00 PM, contact darci@northwestneighborsnetwork.org

This continues a series of live readings throughout the fall season, pairing tales of horror with recipes for cocktails to mix and enjoy while you listen.

The Cresswell Club began as a series of Halloween and Walpurgis-Night ghost story readings with friends and family in New York City, and was continued by the Carpenter Brothers when they moved back to their hometown of Seattle.

Cocktails: TBD

Please register. You will be sent a Zoom link to the session by 6pm the day of the program.
