Take advantage of shopping hours for Ages 60+

Grocery stores offering dedicated hours for Seniors and vulnerable populations (as of 3/19)

Albertsons/Safeway: 7-9 AM Tues. & Thurs

Target: first hour each Wed., check store website for hours (may change to daily)

Whole Foods: one hour before store opens to public, check store website hours

-Note that many stores are closing earlier than usual

2. Stay Connected:

While NNN is limiting public interactions at this time, here are ideas for staying connected:

On your own:

Organizing and updating papers, wills, trusts. Time to pull out files and get this done while you're working on your taxes. Treat yourself with a friendly phone call visit or have a volunteer run an errand for a special treat to celebrate when you're done.

Phone chats:

Several members and volunteers are interested in visiting on the phone. (One way to get to know one another better despite face-to-face social distancing.)

Video chats:

Been wanting to try out a free video calling service on your computer? Zoom is one option, and we have volunteers ready to video chat with you, and call you to help set it up. Learn more: https://zoom.us/. (We can also walk you through how to use video calling on your smart phone if that's an option for your phone)

What'sApp:

If you have a smart phone, this is a great app for texting (even internationally) as well as calling or video calling. You can even set up multiple people in one group to share photos/texts with friends or family. https://www.whatsapp.com/

shopping and essential transportation needs.

We are limiting our interactions in public places, which will hopefully preserve the ability for some of us to be able to continue to provide transportation, errands, and in home services.

So far we are continuing our walks outdoors and some visits in homes.

For each member-volunteer interaction, we request that a phone conversation take place to ensure continued comfort and safety measures.

Census letters are in the mail

Each household will receive U.S. Census letters in March, and continue to receive mailings until responses are received.

It's crucial to fill out your census information to continue to ensure we receive funding and social services for all age levels across King County, Snohomish County, our State, and across the United States.

It is important to know that the Census Bureau will not send unsolicited emails to request your participation in the 2020 Census. Further, during the 2020 Census, the Census Bureau will never ask for:

Your Social Security number.
Your bank account or credit card numbers.
Anything on behalf of a political party.
Money or donations.
