Ready to see a few new faces... well, maybe older faces you have not seen for a while? Come zoom with us. We promise to never run out of things to talk about. Hope to see you here!
Most older adults hope to live independently for as long as possible. Newer technologies may help to make this goal a reality, with the potential to make aging in place easier for both older adults and those who care for them. From mobile applications to Artificial Intelligence, this burgeoning field is finding new ways to help older adults stay healthy and connected.
Professor Oleg Zaslavsky of the UW School of Nursing and the Digital Health Innovation Hub will provide an overview of the available technologies, both current and evolving, with information gleaned from research into their best and safest uses.
This series is free, but registration is required. Once registered, you‘ll receive an email confirmation. Then, closer to the date of the presentation, you‘ll receive another email with the Zoom link and log on information.
Terrace Creek Park - with good parking on the street
Walking for the fun of it. Talking for pleasure and mutual support.
Join hosts Anne and Carol for an afternoon break with other NNN women for some relaxed
conversation and support.
Come chat with cooking tips, recipes, hobbies, a recent book, a story, or simply your day. Have
you discovered a solution on how to open those pesky flip top cans or use squeeze bottles
when your fingers are tired and aching? Please share! We promise to listen, keep it positive, and
allow space for everyone to share or just listen.
Pour yourself a cup of tea, coffee or your favorite beverage and join us. Let’s make friends!
Joining by phone: call 1 253 205 0468. You will be prompted to enter the meeting ID number, then press #, and then punch in the passcode.
Familiarity with Zoom not required, we‘ll help you along the way!
Meet NNN Volunteer Gene W. at the Boardwalk entrance and enjoy strolling the Edmonds Marsh Interpretive Walkway. The path begins with about 300 feet of boardwalk and continues onto a paved asphalt walkway. Gene will begin walking by 10:15 if you want to meet and walk with him. Bring binoculars, if you have them, there are usually some interesting birds to see. Event will be canceled if temperature is below freezing or snowing.
Next Volunteer Zoom Discussion, Wednesday, 3/27, 5-6p: Behind the Scenes Volunteer Opportunities Overview and Q&A. This is an online opportunity to discuss and review areas where NNN requires more behind the scenes support to grow. Join us if you are interested, still looking for the right fit or are just curious.
To Be Determined. Contact Sandy@NorthwestNeighborsNetwork.org for information.
In mid February a few NNN members got together to talk about some of the challenges that come with progressive vision loss. At the conclusion of the discussion it was agreed that there was much more to be shared and many ideas yet to be explored.
We have yet to decide the location and time for the next group discussion. If you would like to participate, please email sandy@northwestneighborsnetwork.org. Transportation will be provided to all who need it.
Next Volunteer Happy Hour, Aurora Borealis Shoreline Thursday, 3/28, 4-6p–Join for this one.

Quiddler is a fun word card game can be learned in 5 minutes or less. It is a friendly game, but be warned: the host is very good, and it is hard to better her score. We play in our host member‘s home and have room for more players. If you have not played before, we are willing to teach you!
