CBD (cannabidiols), a non-psychoactive ingredient in the cannabis plant, is marketed for a range of physical and mental health concerns. The legalization of CBD products has elevated interest in both research and usage of CBD. Over 20% of Americans 65 years and older say they have tried CBD oil for various ailments, but is it safe? Is it truly effective? Licensed pharmacist and UW teaching professor Dr. Abby Winter, PharmD, MPA, CDCES, will provide an overview of CBD products, including what to look for and when to use caution. This session is free but registration is required. Once registered, you‘ll receive an email confirmation. As the date for the session gets closer, you‘ll then receive a second email with the Zoom log on information.

Most older adults hope to live independently for as long as possible. Newer technologies may help to make this goal a reality, with the potential to make aging in place easier for both older adults and those who care for them. From mobile applications to Artificial Intelligence, this burgeoning field is finding new ways to help older adults stay healthy and connected. Professor Oleg Zaslavsky of the UW School of Nursing and the Digital Health Innovation Hub will provide an overview of the available technologies, both current and evolving, with information gleaned from research into their best and safest uses. This series is free, but registration is required. Once registered, you‘ll receive an email confirmation. Then, closer to the date of the presentation, you‘ll receive another email with the Zoom link and log on information.
