Join the NNN movie club where a movie will be chosen, and you have a month to watch it before we meet online. We join by Zoom to discuss what we did or didn’t like about the movie.
We haven’t watched a musical yet, so this month we will be watching the movie, Mamma Mia! Full of wonderful ABBA hits, the film blends romance, comedy, and lively dance numbers in a lighthearted celebration of love, family, and friendship. If nothing else, the gorgeous Greek scenery is worth the watch. The cast is nothing to sneeze at either, boasting Pierce Brosnan, Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, and Colin Firth among others.
The plot revolves around the pending marriage of Sophie who, unbeknownst to her mother, sends wedding invitations to three different men after learning that one of them might be her father. The men show up and the fun begins!
It is currently available on Hulu, Starz, Peacock, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Fandango. Some services may charge a small rental fee. You can also check with your library for the DVD or if it is streaming on Hoopla or Kanopy through their services.
