Would you like another chance to visit Edmonds' own Cascadia Art Museum, down by the waterfront? It's a great size for an hour or so, is walker and wheelchair friendly and has benches in viewing rooms if you want to sit to enjoy the art. NNN has arranged a docent led tour for those interested, but you may choose to explore the exhibits on your own if you prefer. NNN Host Eileen C. hopes you'll join her and others from NNN for this outing. Space for the tour is limited to 12 participants, not including volunteer drivers. Volunteer drivers, please remember to register yourself if you plan to stay with the group for the tour, so we know how many are coming.
ABOUT THE MUSEUM:
Take a look at the Cascadia Art Museum website for brief descriptions of the featured artists and exhibits. Upcoming exhibits we will see include Part 2 of the Garvey Family Collection. For those who came to our first visit, we saw Part 1 of this family's collection. The paintings in the exhibit represent an exceptionally strong collection of late 19thand early 20thcentury works that depict historical subjects of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. As with Part 1 of this exhibition, these works will be seen by the public for the first time.
Another special exhibition, A Decade of Rediscovery: Cascadia Art Museum's Tenth Anniversary, marks the Museum's tenth anniversary and features a landmark exhibition which celebrates a decade of groundbreaking exhibitions that have uncovered the lost history of Northwest visual art. This exhibition includes painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, and design objects, documenting our Northwest region’s rich cultural history.
