Hello Neighbors!
I am honored to be the new President of Northwest Neighbors Network! I'm deeply grateful to the Board of Directors for their vote of confidence and excited to lead this great organization. | | |
My sincere thanks goes to our past President, Suzy Chandler, for her outstanding leadership and dedication to our community. Suzy has built a strong foundation for our organization, and I'm grateful to follow in her footsteps.
Having started my journey with NNN as a volunteer in 2023 and subsequently serving on the Board in 2024, I have a deep understanding and appreciation for the organization's mission and values. I know firsthand the important work our volunteers do and how vital this organization is to our community. Seeing how our volunteers make a difference in the lives of those they help is truly inspiring.
To further our cause, we are prioritizing these three focus areas this year:
- Continue to Meet Our Members Needs: NNN is here for all its members – both the volunteers and those receiving help.
- Finalize and Implement Our 3-Year Strategic Plan: This plan will guide our organizational development and ensure that we are effectively achieving our mission.
- Enhance Our Operational Efficiency: We will streamline our processes and improve our internal operations to maximize our impact and minimize administrative burdens.
We will make sure to keep you posted as we make progress on these priorities.
Thank you for your continued support of NNN. I look forward to serving you as we work together to strengthen our community.
--- Mahyar

NNN Hiring for Executive Director
February 2025 sees NNN marking six years of building our community, and we are seeking an Executive Director to continue to help us grow our neighbors helping neighbors model. The Executive Director will work with our experienced Volunteer Services Manager and NNN’s dedicated Board of Directors and other volunteers to address the needs of seniors and adults with disabilities in north King County and south Snohomish County. The Executive Director is the primary management role, managing ongoing operations, directing community outreach, leading fundraising activities, and supervising staff. Are you a local, experienced Executive Director, or do you know just the right person to nurture our growth? You can see the job posting here.
The application deadline is February 5, 2025. Interviews will be conducted during February. Anticipated start date is in April. | SEATac Airport via Light Rail Are you planning to fly somewhere soon? Are you dreading asking a friend for a ride to SEATac, or worse, paying Uber an outrageous amount to get there? Did you know that NNN can take you to your local light rail station, and your Senior Orca card can get you to the airport for $1.00? | | | Volunteer Eileen C is planning a service to introduce members and volunteers to the ease of riding the Light Rail from Lynnwood Station to the end of the line at SEATac Airport. First, you will be picked up at home. We will then stop in at the Ride Store to get a free Senior Orca card, hop on the train, and navigate our way into the familiar part of the airport. It’s safe, cheap, and easy!
The service will likely take place on one Saturday morning each month. It’s nearly a quarter of a mile walk into the airport; there is frequently a shuttle available, but not always. If interested, please contact:
