Subject: Member to Member offer: Learn About Property Tax Exemption Program for Eligible Seniors
From: NNN Activities

Are you interested in learning about, and potentially benefiting from, the State's Property Tax Exemption Program for Seniors and People with Disabilities? Income eligibility limits were recently increased, and it may be worth investigating if you’re eligible to participate in the program. If you're a homeowner who's 62 & older or a person with disabilities with income limits no higher than $84K in King County and $75K in Snohomish County, you may be able to reduce your current property tax bill by thousands of dollars.

NNN volunteer Harold H. has offered to meet with any member who would like to learn more about this program to share his knowledge about how the application process works and to offer some helpful tips that he's learned about this potential money saving opportunity for those who qualify. As a volunteer, Harold will not be able to discuss your personal tax situation, your personal financial situation or complete an application for you.

This is an opportunity for you to talk with a fellow NNN member who's become familiar with the property tax exemption programs, so you can consider if you want to pursue applying for an exemption, You can also contact the Snohomish County Assessor's Office (425-388-3540) or the King County Department of Assessments (206-296-3920) for more information about the program.

If you’re interested in meeting with Harold, please contact us at Social@northwestneighborsnetwork.org. We'll put you in touch with him to set up a one-on-one meeting in your home or at a convenient location in our service area. Once you and Harold have agreed on when and where to meet, if you need a ride we can help coordinate that through Services.

Related to this topic, Shoreline Community College’s Continuing Education program is offering a 3-hour workshop Strategies to Lower Property Taxes for Seniors on July 11 or August 8 from 6-9 p.m. The workshop costs $39.00. Register with Shoreline Community College. For more information click on this link.

As stated in our Member Reference Guide, as a volunteer organization NNN volunteers are not able to offer some services, including those that require a professional license or anything that requires a fiduciary relationship.
